A traditionally-performed residential energy audit focuses primarily on the exterior shell of a home. However, homeowners have significant resources and options at their disposal to help improve the internal energy efficiency of their property as well. When you have taken proper training and have access to this information, you will be better able to confidently and competently address your customers' concerns, thereby increasing the value of the service you provide in addition to weatherization and insulation remediation.
The ENERGY STAR program and EnergyGuide labels are extensively covered in this course, as well as residential systems and home appliances that present opportunities for energy savings. When you have successfully learned the material and completed this course, you will be aware of the information and have the resources required to give competent advice to homeowners on steps they can take to reduce their annual energy costs.
Text, audio, embedded videos, images, diagrams, electronic flashcards, practice quizzes, learning activities, and more are all utilized throughout the course to aid your information retention. After making your way through the course and passing the lesson quizzes, your training will conclude in a final exam to verify that you have learned the course material. The course is taken online and will take about twelve hours to complete.
